My name is Michael Enever and I run my Bookkeeping Business from Addingham, near Ilkley on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales, where I live with my wife, my daughter, and my dog.

In my younger days I started out as a Computer Software designer and programmer. These IT systems often included many accounting functions and integrated with off-the-shelf accounting packages.

To fulfil a childhood longing, in 2004, I embarked on a career change and trained to be a cabinet maker, and since 2007 I have had my own business making bespoke furniture and handmade kitchens. Along with the practical aspects, I was also responsible for keeping all financial records and accounts up to date, submitting VAT returns, and supplying figures to my accountant.

Having enjoyed this experience, I decided to re-train as a bookkeeper. With the benefit of different careers, and outlooks, I have gained knowledge in a wide variety of settings working with people from all walks of life.

I hope to offer my clients a very personal service. I work in an informal way and use as little jargon as I can. I am aware that some people can find the numbers side of running a business very daunting, and so I like to keep things as easy to understand as possible.
I can do as little, or as much, as you would like whether it is taking on all aspects of your bookkeeping or just helping you to organise your own routines and data collection. I am a fully qualified Bookkeeper with a Practice Licence – Number 22748 - awarded by the Institute of Certified Bookkeepers (ICB), the UK’s largest professional body for bookkeepers.
I am regulated by the ICB to provide a professional and confidential service. I have full Public Indemnity Insurance and I am fully GDPR compliant with a certificate from the ICO – Reference Number ZB043322
